Does anyone know who contributed the North information to the booklet developed for the Sacred Heart Church (Meedin) rededication in 1983. I was sent a copy of the piece and was wondering where the information originated from.

My North relatives still live in Rochfortbridge but we would like to find out more about the family history. Any help appreciated. Great grandfather William married Elizabeth Keough (Keogh) in 1860.

Dear Denis,
Congratulations on you new website. It is a bold new move for you and I wish you all the best of luck with it. I also congratulate you on work as Historian and Poet. A very fine job in both areas. I must say I enjoyed your very accurate and most interesting account of the Rochfort’s. It surpassed all previous accounts and the poems are better than those of the Dean himself. You are a man of many talents--Comic, Entertainer, Historian, Playwright, Poet, Soldier, Father and Builder [so far]. Unfortunately, I am not in a position to join your website at this stage but hopefully I will be able to do so at some stage - down the track. My current computer is a Shane’s reject and I soon intend to replace it with a more up to date model. Added to that is the fact that I am going through a stressful period of my life where my role as Carer has put the brakes on my ability to function as I should. Still as I say, things will improve and I hope that I will still be able to communicate with you as in the past. I hope to be able to still read your website and to comment on it. It appears that my dream of bringing an "O'Neill" Family Tree to all of you is also looking remote. I fear that some of us may well be dead and gone before I get around to that task. So, I ask myself-"why not stand aside and leave the work to a professional like you to do the job"? Of course I would contribute to the work {if invited} and help out in any way possible. You would have to put a price tag on each copy and I have no doubt that anyone wanting a copy would [like myself) gladly pay up for the pleasure of reading it and having it in the family. I trust that you and all the family are in the best of health. All here are just the same. All the best to all..............J.J. (Uncle John) |
